Hotmail interface also lets the user to create
SMS alerts whenever you receive a specified
message in your inbox. It will notify you when
you will receive an important email by sending a
mobile alert on your phone through SMS. It
doesnt mean you cannot set the message alert for
other emails or other emails. But then you will
be receiving a lot of SMS on your number. You can
clarify for which emails you want to get notified
by using mobile alert filters.

• How to do it?
• Below is the process of configuring text message
  alerts for the important mails
• Access Windows Live Hotmail and login to your
  Hotmail account.
• b. Place your mouse over your name on the upper
  right side.
• c. Now choose Options.
• d. Select Mail by using the menu available on the
  left side of the window.
• e. Now go to Customize your mail and choose
  Mobile alerts for new messages option.
• f. If you have not linked your mobile number with
  the Account, then you are required to do so
  for proceeding ahead. All you have to do is enter
  your contact number details you will receive
  a text on that number and then enter the received
  validation code.

• g. Choose Messages I specify using mobile alert
  filters button under Which Hotmail messages
  do you want to receive mobile alerts for?
  option.
• h. Click on save button.
• i. You will be redirected to Manage Rule screen.
  For creating a new filter click on New button.
• j. In Step 1, by using the dropdown you can pick
  what Hotmail should check first. Options are
• Senders address
• Senders name
• To/cc address
• Subject
• Message attachments
• k. You can select the proper value by using the
  second dropdown.
• l. In the text box, enter the proper value.
• m. Then choose Mobile alert button in Step 2.
• n. Then click on Save button.
