Various Uses of Capacitive and Inductive proximity sensors

Description:

A proximity sensor is an instrument that detects the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact. A proximity sensor regularly emanates an electromagnetic field or a light emission radiation (infrared, for example), and searches for changes in the field or return signal. The object being detected is frequently alluded to as the proximity sensor's objective. Diverse proximity sensor targets request distinctive sensors. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Title: Various Uses of Capacitive and Inductive proximity sensors

1
  • Various Uses of Capacitive and
    Inductive proximity sensors

2
  • A proximity sensor is an instrument that detects
the presence of nearby objects without any
physical contact. A proximity sensor regularly
emanates an electromagnetic field or a light
emission radiation (infrared, for example), and
searches for changes in the field or return
signal. The object being detected is frequently
alluded to as the proximity sensor's objective.
    Diverse proximity sensor targets request
    distinctive sensors.
  • There are various types of proximity sensors such
    as Inductive, capacitive, photoelectric and
    magnetic proximity sensors.

Capacitive proximity sensor
Capacitive proximity sensors are perfect for
level and feed monitoring. From strong material,
for example, paper or wood, to granules or
fluids, they can be depended upon to identify
what is going on in the creation procedure and
amid definite review. For example, to know
whether there is something behind the cover? How
much paint is still left in the tank? Are some of
the questions which a capacitive proximity sensor
can easily answer? These sensors can sense
ranges between 1 and 25 mm which allows them to
be used in nearly all installation situations.
These sensors are also resistant to interference,
impurities, contamination and dust.

Inductive proximity sensor
An inductive proximity sensor can distinguish
metal targets moving toward the sensor, without
physical contact with the objective. Inductive
Proximity Sensors are generally ordered into the
accompanying three sorts as per the working
standard the high-frequency oscillation type
using electromagnetic induction, the attractive
sort utilizing a magnet, and the capacitance sort
utilizing the adjustment in capacitance. This
technology can be used in applications where the
metal object is to be detected is within an inch
or two of the sensor face. Currently these
sensors are used in light duty packaging
applications and on the automotive welding
equipment.
