5 Myths which are common among the IELTS
Aspirants
  • Hi everyone. Nextworld Education always happy to
help in guiding students to easily score high in
IELTS, TOEFL and PTE exam. Continuing the trends,
here we are describing some myths about IETS
Exam. We assured you this will very helpful for
    your IELTS Exam preparation.

3
Myth1 It is impossible for Non-native speakers
to get 9 bands in IELTS.
  • Truth Band 9 in IELTS shows the expertise level
in English Language. So the test is based on
language instead of place from where you belong.
If you done best in all sections of test you can
easily get 9 bands and sometimes it has been
observed that native speakers not score 9 bands.

Myth No. 2 Prepare and improve your performance
by practicing previous tests of IELTS.
  • Truth Most of the students think the best way to
improve your performance is to practicing old
tests rather make themselves perfect in all 4
modules. Get familiar with the test once and
after this you can work on your weakness. Doing
tests makes you feel that you are enough prepared
for the final test, but in reality it is not.
    Prefer listening English news, radio,
conversations between 2 English speakers, English
    songs, movies etc.

5
Myth No. 3 I will lose marks if I dont
understand the question once in speaking module
  • Truth Its totally a myth. There is no mark lose
if you asked the examiner to repeat the
questions. As the name clears Speaking the test
is designed to check your speaking skills not the
listening skills. Even you can ask the meaning of
any word you not able to understand well. You can
lose marks only when you are unable to answer it
    in proper way.

6
Myth No. 4 I can grab more marks if I take test
in my own country
  • Truth The biggest myth that most of candidate
have is that they can score good in IELTS if they
take test in their country. The fact is that the
IELTS is same everywhere and not restricted to
place or country. Its true that student score
good in their own country but not due to paper is
easy but the reason is they feel more comfortable
while attempting the exam and this makes your
performance good which ultimately affect your
    score.

7
Myth No.5 There is repetition of some questions
at the specific time of the year
  • Truth Dont think about that because IELTS have
highly talented people and have array of
questions to ask. According to some students that
there are some question which are asked on
specific time in the year. You are advised to
just concentrate on your preparation and try to
do your best to score high in the exam.
