• One of the most famous treks in India is the
  Roopkund trek. This trek is famous because
  trekkers get to walk through three different
  types of environments. They start by moving
  through a thick forest, then they go through a
  meadow and finally reach an icy end.

• Once the trek starts, trekkers enter an amazing
  oak and pine forest. This forest is amazingly
  thick. The leaves on the ground create a padded
  footing for the walkers and every step gets a
  crunching sound. It takes a full day to walk
  through this great oak and pine forest.

• After tekkers exit the forest, they enter the
  lower of the two amazing meadows, Ali Bugyal and
  Bedni Bugyal. The first meadow that falls in the
  way is Ali Bugyal and then comes Bedni Bugyal.
  The amazing thing about these meadows is that the
  are at a high altitude, about 10,000 ft and
  12,000 ft.

• The Bedni Bugyal meadows end is breathtaking.
  Once you reach the end of Bedni Bugyal, you will
  see the famous Mount Trishul. Just the view of
  this mount is enough to make a grown man cry, as
  is stated by many trek leaders.

• The final part of the trek comes when trekkers
  reach the skeletons lake. Well its not skeletons
  lake anymore, all the skeletons have been
  removed. It would have been great to have them
  there.

• The story behind the 200 skeletons is that in
  about 850 A.D. a big family was on the move to
  find a new land when they came across this lake.
  Their stay was not long as they were greeted with
  a shower of hailstones. The whole family died
  there, and their bones have stayed in the same
  place for centuries.

• Each month many treks take place in Roopkund and
  many trekker fall in love with this trek. This
  trek is a variety of seasons and nature. A truly
