Title: Painting Science 101 - Is it the right time to paint your house exterior

1
Painting Science 101 Is it the right time to
paint your house exterior?
2
the idea of DIY painting
  • Painting the exterior of your dwelling is
probably the easiest way to spruce up the
forefront and add much needed elegance to your
    dwelling.
  • Whats more, the idea of DIY painting makes the
job more fun and less exorbitant. But if youre
planning to embark on this exciting DIY venture
anytime soon, we got to stop you there for a
minute because theres something you should know.

3
  • No matter how much fun the job is and how good
your paint materials and texture finishes, you
cant paint the exterior of your house any time
    of the year.
  • Okay, have you ever seen anyone painting their
exterior while its raining or anyone up on a
ladder with a paintbrush in their hand in the
    dead of winter?
  • Of course, not.
  • However, bitter winter and rainy season arent
the only times you shouldnt be thinking about
painting your exteriors. There are many other
times of the year when you would want to put off
    your exterior painting project.

4
So, whats the best time to paint your houses
exterior?
  • Weather has a crucial role to play in the success
of a painting project. The temperature and
weather conditions at the time of the application
affect how the paint dries and how the job turns
    out eventually.
  • Ideally to yield best outcomes, you would want to
choose warm, dry days. That said, late spring and
early summer offer the best weather conditions
with moderate temperatures, lower humidity and
    minimal rainfall.
  • While late April and May might have a hint of the
arrival of summer, the consistent warm weather
with minimal fluctuations in temperature from day
to night and scarce rainfall doesnt come until
    June.

5
  • Painting your house in, late June, July, August
and early September produce quite good results.
  • Furthermore, it is suggested that you observe the
weather for a few days before and after painting
your exterior. If it rains before the painting
day, you need to check weather forecast.
  • If the news indicates toward a clear weather for
the next few days, you want to wait at least one
full day for the walls to dry fully and then you
    can proceed to paint.

6
To Sum Up
  • Summer being typically dry and warm is considered
the ideal time for painting exteriors.
  • For those who cant paint over the summer owing
to unfavourable household situations or personal
reasons, it would be a good idea to either take
on the project in early spring or late fall.
  • Avoid painting in the rainy season and give your
homes siding adequate time to dry out if youre
planning to paint after spring rain.
  • The success with a paint job relies on much more
than a quality texture paint. It is essential to
ensure optimal temperatures, humidity levels and
temperature fluctuations for an exterior paint
    job to turn out perfectly.
