Technology impacting negatively in class

• A study by the The Pew Research Centre (America)
  interviewed nearly 2,500 teachers and established
  that 77 were of the opinion that the internet
  had a "mostly positive" impact on students,
  whilst 87 felt that ICTs were creating an
  "easily distracted generation with short
  attention spans".

• Lack of concentration Students are capable of
  concentrating for long hours. Regrettably, those
  students that are immersed in technology, lack
  communication skills, emotional intelligence and
  self awareness.

• Impatient student The internet is a research
  tool beyond compare. But students are now less
  willing to look and struggle to find information.
  The internet has caused this phenomenon of
  instant gratification

• Over-reliance on the internet. Students not doing
  any in-depth research. Millennials missing a
  deeper understanding of knowledge.

• ICTs are a distraction in class, it should
  rather be switched off.

• More research is needed in how technology impacts
  learning.
