What Role Do Transformers Play In Delivering
Electricity Miracle Electronics
Both step-up and step-down transformers are
constructed to change the AC voltage to supply
power to various types of residential and
commercial electrical applications. The only
difference between the two is that step-up
transformers increase the voltage from primary to
secondary, while step-down transformers decrease
the voltage. Due to these properties, step-up
transformers are most popularly used for
components like fluorescent light starter coils
and CRT flybacks while step-down transformers
are used for appliances like mobile phone
adapters, CD players, and stereos. However, both
these transformer types are used to power homes
and offices every day. Let us see how these power
transformers in India do this.
How and where is electricity created? Electricity
is created in power stations by burning fuels.
When current flows through a wire, it leads to
energy consumption. Higher the current, higher
the consumption of energy. This is why the
National Grid always transmits electricity at
very low current and very high voltage.
Generally, power stations produce electricity at
an average of 25,000 V that needs to be sent
across the entire country. So, how is this entire
huge process defined? For electricity to reach
out to the entire nation, it must be sent at high
voltages ranging between 1,32,000 V to 2,75,000
V. This huge leap in voltage reduces energy loss
during power transmission. This is where these
transformers help by producing voltage and
reducing energy loss during power transmission.

How do step-up and step-down transformers
individually work? Step-up transformers are used
in central power stations, where they permit
increase in voltage to the necessary level in
order to produce electricity, which is then
transmitted through power lines. But, because
this high voltage is dangerous for direct usage
in residential and commercial applications,
step-down transformers are used to reduce this
high voltage to safer levels when the current
reaches the local power stations. This reduced
safe electricity voltage is then provided to
residential, commercial, and industrial areas for
direct usage by end users. So, you can see how
both step-up and step-down transformers are
essential in delivering electricity from the
National Grid into the homes and offices of end
users by playing their own individual and
critical roles. Without any of these
transformers, electricity can neither be
maintained nor delivered to us. This means that
none of us can survive without these components
because none of us in todays world can survive
without electricity. And, if you are looking to
buy these amazing and useful equipment for any
kind of residential or commercial applications,
you can do so from Miracle Electronics who
manufacturers power transformers in India that
are exclusively designed to provide the highest
level of safety to the operator, and permits
flawless use of grounded/ungrounded circuits that
are independent of power or lighting grounds.
Moreover, their power transformers are all RoHS
and REACH compliant, and are also available with
CE and UL marks on request. And, you can also
reach them for custom designed and developed
power transformers.
