Title: What is Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Why It’s Important?

1
What is Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Why
Its Important?
2
CPR and first aid certification Colorado
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a procedure
which is performed on the cardiac arrest patients
to ensure the blood circulation and the
functionality of lungs. Chest compressions and
artificial ventilation are combined to restore
spontaneous blood circulation and breathing of
    the patient.

3
CPR and first aid certification Colorado
  • CPR and first aid certification Colorado offers
professional training to the individuals as it
not only saves the precious lives, but also
improves your confidence and profile. CPR and
first aid certification Colorado includes the
    below-mentioned points in their training.

How to Perform CPR?
  • Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) demands immediate CPR
and first aid as every minute is important in
this procedure. The American Heart Association
uses the acronym CAB which implicates
    compression, airway, and breathing.

Compression
  • Compressions aims to restore the blood
circulation of the patient to confirm the supply
of oxygen to the vital organs. All you have to do
is to lay down the person on the back and make
sure the surface is firm. Put your knee of the
patients shoulder and neck so you get a strong
support when you exert pressure on the chest.
Place one hand in the center of the chest and
place the other hand over it. Dont bend your
elbows and use the heels of your hand and upper
body weight to compress the chest up to inches.
Push rate should be 100 to 120 but never compress
the chest more than 2.4 inches. Continue the
process until you observe any movement in the
    body.

Clear the Airway CPR and First Aid
Certification Colorado considers clear the airway
a very important step of the CPR procedure and
suggests the individuals to provide head tilt and
chin-life maneuver to open the blocked airway.
Put your hand on the head and tilt it gently.
Slowly lift the chin forwards check the patients
breathing. This maneuver never takes more than 10
seconds. Gasping isnt considered as normal
breathing. You can give mouth-to-mouth breathing
if you are expert and the patient is unconscious.
You can even skip this step if you lack the
expertise. Mouth-to-Mouth Breathing Its
third and the last step of CPR procedure in which
the patient gets mouth-to-mouth breathing with
the open airways. Pinch the nose a bit and cover
the patients mouth with yours to prevent the
loss of oxygen. After giving the first breath,
check the movement of the chest and give the
second breathe if the chest rises in the first.
However, you need to give head-tilt and chin-lift
maneuver if the chest doesnt show any response
after the first breathe. 30 initial compressions
and 2 breathes become one cycle and one should
restore the blood circulation in the first cycle.
In the case of no

  • CPR and First Aid Certification Colorado provides
complete equipment for the training and also
describes the difference of CPR among different
