• For filing a PR visa for Australian continent,
  there is only one program called GSM (General
  Skilled Migration) under which there exist 3
  sub-class-
• Skilled Independent Visa sub-class 189
• State sponsor/ nomination visa sub-class 190
• Regional sponsor or family provisional (TRP)
  visa sub-class 489
• Before going for any program, you need to see the
  eligibility criteria. You can apply for Australia
  PR under the program you eligible for.

Eligibility requirements to apply for visa
sub-class 189

• Your profile should be in demand under SOL
  (Skilled Occupation List)
• Based on profile factors, i.e. Age,
  Qualification, Experience, English proficiency
  and other such components, applicant must score
  at least 60/100 independently
• The applicant needs to submit an Expression of
  Interest (EOI)
• The applicant must be between 18 and 49 years of
  age.
• All applicants must meet the health, public
  interest, character, and special return criteria.

• Your profile should be in demand under or you
  must be skilled in an occupation which is listed

• You must score at least 55 points against points
  test factors. Points are awarded for age, English
  language ability, skilled employment,
  qualifications and other factors.
• You must be nominated by an Australian State or
  Territory.

  lodgement.

• You must be under 50 years of age.
• You must have a work experience in any of the
  jobs/ skills listed in the Consolidated Skilled
  Occupation List (CSOL) of Australia.
• You must score at least 60 points in a
  point-based assessment test. The test takes into
  consideration factors such as your Age,
  Education, Skills, Work Experience, English
  proficiency and a few other factors. Calculate by

• You must get a sponsorship from a state/
  territory
• Obtain the required level of proficiency under
  the IELTS or other English language test as
  acceptable by Australian government
• Demonstrate proof of required work experience
• Review of Expression of Interest (EOI)

There are other requirements too that you need to
comply with, in each of the programs. These are

• Language proficiency To apply for Skilled
  Independent Visa sub-class 189, you must prove
  your proficiency in English language. For proving
  your English proficiency you can give any English
  exam that is acceptable by Australian government,
  i.e., IELTS, TOEFL, PTE etc. More you score in
  the exam more points you will get.
• Health requirement You and each member of your
  family unit is required to go through health
  examinations, irrespective of any member
  accompanying you to Australia or not.
• Character requirement You are required to submit
  a police certificates for each country each
  person from your family has lived in, for a
  cumulative period of 12 months or more, over the
  last 10 years, since turning 16 years of age.
