Haru First Date

• Six years ago, on a hot June evening, I was
  introduced to my best friend and husband Shiraz.
• It was a beautiful Sunday and I had spent the
  majority of my day on Governor's Island at the
  annual Veuve Clicquot Polo match.  The Polo match
  is a chance for New Yorkers dress up in their

• Not to be outdone, I decided to wear a lavender
  Catherine Malendrino with Louboutins and a Chanel
  Bag.
• For my date that followed the match, my bestie
  Anjie decided I HAD to change. I can still hear
  her laughing that I would "scare" a man away with
  my ruffles. She styled me in her black sweater
  dress, made me leave my bag at her home and wear
  flip flops. 
• We met Shiraz on Irving Place and took a short
  walk before the girls decided to make themselves
  scarce. Since I was feeling peckish (which I
  always am) and we couldn't stop talking, Shiraz
  recommended a quick bite at Haru. And that was
  the first date for our Happily Ever After.
