RBI to open office in Arunachal Pradesh  
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will open an
    office in the north-eastern state of Arunachal
    Pradesh.  Surekha Marandi, Executive Director
    (ED) of Reserve Bank of India, on called
    on 09/12/2017 Chief Minister Pema Khandu at
    Itanagar.
  • Marandi heads the consumer education and
    protection department, financial inclusion and
    development department.
  •  As the Indian economy hugely depends upon
    financial inclusion of every citizen, RBI is
    committed to extending banking facilities to
    remotest parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Marandi said.

India GDP growth for 2018 is 7.5 Morgan Stanley
  • Global financial services firm Morgan Stanley has
    forecast a 7.5 percent real GDP growth for the
    Indian economy for 2018.
  • The recent plan to recapitalise Indian public-
    sector banks combined with the returning health
    of balance sheet fundamentals are set to be the
    primary drivers of the growth spurt.

BIMSTEC Festival of Buddhist Heritage-Bodhi Parva
inaugurated
  • India is hosting the Bodhi Parva BIMSTEC
    Festival of Buddhist Heritage from 8 to 10
    December as part of celebrations of 20th
    anniversary of BIMSTEC. 
  • BIMSTECThe Bay of Bengal Initiative for
    Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation
    (BIMSTEC) is an international organisation
    involving a group of countries in South Asia and
    South East Asia
  • Established 06th June 1997

India and SouthKorea aims to increase
culturaltourism exchange
  • India and South Korea signed agreements on
    increasing cultural exchange and flow of people
    between the two countries during the 16th
    India-Korea Strategic Dialogue held in New Delhi
    last week.
  • The two countries have decided to give high
    priority to cultural and tourism exchange.
  • On agenda is increasing in the next one year the
    total number of tourists to 1 million the total
    number of exchange of students to 5,000, with
    special focus on science and technology
