Title: Landscaping Tips
1LANDSCAPING TIPS
2SOD WATERING Your lawn needs an inch of water
per week including rain. Make sure that the
entire lawn is well watered including the corners
and edges of the lawn. You should water the soil
to wet for 1 inch below the turf. Water the lawn
in the morning and evening as midday watering can
burn the lawn and consumes more water.
3SOD MOWING Before mowing, ensure that
the mower blades are sharp enough as dull blades
can tear the grass resulting in increased water
loss and make it more disease prone. Grass should
be mowed to a height of 2-3 inch without removing
more than one-third of the grass height.
4GENERAL LAWN TIPS Ask your turf provider about
what needs to be done to maintain the beauty of
the turf as some turf comes fertilized. If you
are applying fertilizer then make sure the turf
is not damp as it will burn your lawn. During the
first month, try to stay off from the turf so the
roots can take hold. If you really need to be on
the turf then try not to step on the same areas
repeatedly.
5NEW TREE MAINTENANCE If you plant a new
tree, water it whenever the soil is dry 3-4"
below the lawn surface for the next ten days. Be
careful of over watering or under watering. If
the leaves do not perk up within a few hours then
it may be over watered and will be best to wait
for some time before watering.
6Once landscaping has been completed, maintenance
is required to make your property look beautiful
for years to come. Also, it is important to make
sure that your investment is not wasted. To help
you, ADC Hardscapes have come up with the above
guide to assure that your yard stays beautiful
for a long time.
