3Ministry for the renewal strengthening
of Christian family life
4VISION FAMILIES IN THE HOLY SPIRIT RENEWING THE
FACE OF THE EARTH
Supporting not just the couples, but
strengthening the families as well
The strength of our families in CFC will
determine the extent the Lord can use us for His
purposes
5The family is the basic unit of society
The condition of individual families will
determine the condition of society as a
whole Our work of strengthening family life is
the best way for us to work for the moral
regeneration of society
6Ways of Strengthening Family Life
71. Understand better the meaning of our
commitment to our spouse in marriage
8 Marriage is a relationship of commitment and
service not based on emotion, but on
fidelity entrusting oneself completely to the
other denying oneself for the good of the other
9WALKING IN HIS WILL
We need to recognize that we are first committed
to God. Our feelings, likes and dislikes, and our
will are all subordinated to God's will and plan
for us
10During moments of difficulty, turn to the
Lord Recognize that God is the architect of our
marriage, and knows how best for it to work
Mt 11 28 - 30 Come to me, all you who are weary
and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my
yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle
and humble in heart, and you will find rest for
your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is
light.
11Christ-centered Spiritual Lives Jesus as the
Lord of Our Lives Holy Spirit-led Lives
122. Live more fully the principles of Christian
personal relationships
13 Before we are husband wife, we are brother
sister in the Lord
14(Matthew 544-48)
The demand of Christians personal
relationships are more than just the practice of
human virtues. We are called to unconditional
love and service
153. Make the home a center of family life
16Parents are not sufficiently available to their
children
Children are resistant to direction and
indifferent to parents wishes, values and beliefs
17Parents need to make a decision to bring back
life in the home and make time for it (e.g.,
family meals, family recreation, shared chores,
etc.)
184. Interact with other Christian families
19Has ministries for family members other than for
couples
205. Exercise greater control over the family use
of media and of time
21Many families do not deal strongly enough with
the intrusion of media Mass media have almost
unlimited access to many families
The formation of young minds is given over to the
information and entertainment industries
Media dampens family activity and communication
22Christian families should find ways to share
their lives with one another
- by working together
- having social life together
- helping one another in practical ways that
involve people of various ages - going to mass together
- going on vacation and family outings together
- extending voluntary work
- simply having coffee together
236. Develop Christian peer environments for young
people
Peer groups are a powerful force in the lives of
young people We do not seek to avoid these, but
to redirect them
24We should strive to get our children into our
family ministries
257. Become pastors of our children
26Parents must work actively to train and form
their children in Christian faith and character
Parents must raise and train their children to
help them fulfill their God-given destiny
Parents must wrest the initiative from school,
peers and the media
27Prayer is essential
28conclusion
The future of humanity passes by way of the
family We need to strengthen Christian family
life, in order to defend God's creation, and to
renew the face of the earth
