The story of how Mike Tyson became a household
name is what American success stories are built
upon. Born in Brooklyn, in an impoverished
neighborhood, he literally fought his way to the
top. He became the youngest heavyweight champion
at the age of 20 years old and still holds this
record to this day. Mike Tyson's early success
did come with it's share of controversies but
what is so remarkable about Mike Tyson's story
is his compassion and resilience. His ability to
capture the hearts of people all across the
world because of his fearless uncanny ability to
be vulnerable with his heart and have compassion
for all mankind is the real Mike Tyson. His
retirement from the boxing ring, surged a
successful career as an entertainer,
motivational speaker, author and philanthropist.
Although if you ask Mike Tyson what his greatest
accomplishment to date has been, he will gladly

Mike Tyson is committed to making a di?erence in
our communities. He dedicates his time and
resources to a plethora of charitable causes. He
is passionate about improving the lives of
children and families from lower income
circumstances. He's pledged his own personal
income to an array of charities, as well as his
time, volunteering as a resource for children
and families in communities across the
world. Mike Tyson Cares Foundation
(miketysoncares.org) was developed as a
resource, acting as an extension of Mike's
philanthropic heart scope. Mike recognizes
without the support team he had growing up in a
lower income community as an at--risk youth, he
would have been just another fallen statistic.
Tyson wants to inspire and help those a?ected by
poverty and help them understand that there are
ways out of their situation if they work hard
and stay positive. His organization partners
with other charitable causes that share in his
mission of helping children and families have a
?ghting chance at a better way of life. His
e?orts have donated money to array of
organizations which include the Marty Hennessy
Inspiring Children Foundation, Shade Tree
Organization, USTA Foundation, Red Cross and the
Salvation Army.
