Title: What to expect after a worker’s compensation deposition

1
What to Expect After a Workers Compensation
Deposition
  • Gaylord Nantais

2
A legal deposition is just one way for you to
give your statement. Depositions can be used to
help establish a case or they can be used in
court proceedings if necessary.
3
When you give a deposition, it will be recorded
as a video or a voice recording.
4
After the deposition is over, the stenographer
will transcribe your statement and make a hard
copy for everyone to look at and review.
5
Once the deposition has been transcribed and
printed, both parties and their attorneys will
receive copies, so that the statement can be
reviewed. If something needs to be clarified or
revised, notes will be made and the stenographer
will make the necessary changes.
6
  • After the deposition has been finalized, your
attorney will be asked to go over the deposition
    with you.
  • You will be able to use it to help support and
    verify your claim.
  • He will ask questions to make sure it contains
all of the necessary information and to make sure
you did not forget any pertinent information.

7
  • Depositions can and will be used in court, so
always make sure to tell the truth and be very
    clear about what happened.
  • A deposition is a signed statement made by you
about what happened during the accident.
  • Since it can be used in court, the judge may
refer back to it several times. Making sure it is
clear and concise is extremely important.
