• This resist printing technique is over thousand
  years old which uses molten wax and cold dyes to
  create ethnic designs. The batik printing is used
  to print the cotton/semi-cotton fabrics. The
  artisans from Shantiniketan of West Bengal and
  Chola Mangal of Madras are famous for batik
  printing. They use splash method or
  screen-printing method to narrate many stories
  through the printed furnishing items. The
  craftsmen of South India use special pens to
  hand-paint winsome motifs on colorful
  backgrounds. This Batik technique is known as
  Kalamkari.
