3D printing robots in aerospace and defense
industry is expected to save over USD 3 billion
annually in maintenance, repair and operations.
3D printing robots with 3D printing technologies
and solutions are now helping in the production
of lighter and complex components. 3D printing
robots are eliminating the traditional prototype
spare parts cost by providing customized
products. With the growing demand for 3D printing
technology, several countries are filing for
patents in the field of 3D printing robotics and
nanotechnology. As per World Intellectual
Property Organization (WIPO), over 75 of patents
were filled by countries such as the United
States, Germany, the UK, Japan, France and South
Korea. End-user industries are getting disrupted
with the implementation of 3D printing robotics
and nanotechnology. Dubai, one of the fastest
growing destinations for construction industry,
has already announced that 25 of buildings in
Dubai will be 3D-printed by the end of 2030.
Governments are also taking initiatives to boost
the growth of 3D printing robotics technology.
For instance, in 2017, South Korea has announced
to invest USD 37 million to proliferate the
expansion of 3D printing technology across the
country.  The United States government also
funded USD 8 million to University of Dayton
Research Institute (UDRI) for the manufacturing
of more efficient 3D printing robots to support
air force services.
