Title: What is WIRELESS HEARING AIDS

1
WIRELESS HEARING AIDS
2
What are hearing aids?
  • A hearing aid is a device that is designed for
improving hearing of a hearing loss person by
making audible sound. It helps the deaf people
when they are facing trouble in hearing sound and
communicate with anyone. Hearing aids are like a
miniature PA system with four basic components
microphone, amplifier, a speaker, and power
    supply.

3
Wireless Hearing Aids
  • In digital world, most of modern hearing aid have
    wireless capabilities.Wireless technology allows
two hearing aids to operate together as one
complete system, instead of acting as two
independent devices. The sound input to both
hearing aids is shared and decisions about the
digital sound processing are based on the
    combined information.

4
Hard-wired Hearing Aids and Wireless Hearing Aids
  • People that use hard-wired hearing aids may
experience a number of issues including sound
    reverberation and an adverse signal-to-noise
ratio.Using the remote microphone that comes with
wireless hearing aids is advantageous because
there is much less background noise as well as
reverberation. With remote microphones it is also
easier to understand words from a distance.

5
Wireless Hearing Aids and Sound Systems
  • Users that take advantage of Bluetooth technology
can connect their hearing aids to a computer,
listen to phone conversations with both ears,
listen to televisions directly and access music
directly from their smartphones. In many cases
this allows hearing aid devices to serve as more
    convenient replacements for headphones speakers.

6
Wireless Hearing Aids Compatibility
  • Hearing aid compatible phones have an internal
    feature which electromagnetically transfers sound
signals directly to hearing aids and cochlear
implants equipped with telecoils. Many people
report feedback or "squealing" when they place
the handset of the telephone or mobile phone next
    to their hearing aid.

7
Convenience
  • wireless capability may also result in hearing
aid features that improve convenience. Some
wireless hearing aids may be set up so that when
a we push a program button or change the volume
control on one hearing device, the change is
automatically implemented on the other side.
Another feature made possible by wireless
communication is the selection of a program
button in one hearing aid and a volume control in
the other hearing aid of the matched set.

8
Connectivity
  • Wireless hearing aids are often capable of
wirelessly communicating with external devices as
well as with each other. There are a variety of
technologies that make this possible, the most
common of which are electromagnetic fields,
    frequency modulation and Bluetooth.

9
Advantage of having Wireless hearing aids
  • Wireless hearing devices offer a number of
    advantages over non-wireless hearing aids.
  • Connect Quickly and Easily
  • Help for Directional Microphones
  • Personalized Control
  • Make Workouts Fun Again
  • Crisper Sound
  • Added Convenience
