How People Understood the Dye Test?
  • Most of the people doesnt aware about the
    concept of dye test.
  • Many of them believe that the swimming pool dye
test is, you put the dye liquid in the pool and
    somehow it detect the leaks.
  • But, this is not an actual way to conduct a dye
test and to perform a dye test, you should
    purchase the required equipment.

Check Suspected Area
  • Before starting a dye test, you should manually
check the suspected leak area in your pool.
  • For example, if you suspected that water is
escaping from the liner of your pool underwater,
then it is best place to start dye test from this
    area.
  • Fittings, skimmers, returns, cleaner line,
lights, steps and the corners are the commonly
    suspected areas of the pool.

6
Spray Dye
  • You should need special dye, applicator syringe,
red liquid and dropper bottle to conduct this
    swimming pool leak detection method.
  • After confirming the suspected area, you need to
spray four to five drops of dye (red food
coloring) directly adjacent to the area where you
    suspect the leak is.
  • You should do this process all the suspected area
    in your swimming pool.

7
Detect the Leaky Place
  • After spraying the dye, you should wait a few
minutes to see the water slowly move in the pool.
If there is any leak in your pool, then the red
dye will pull into the leak.
  • The larger leak in your pool, you can see the dye
is being pulled into the leak.
  • This is the best way of performing a swimming
pool leak detection dye test around the skimmer
    and light gaskets.
