• What is Bharat Bill Payment System?
• BBPS or Bharat Bill Payment System is a system
  launched by RBI aimed at easing the payment of
  bills across geographies.
• Along with bill payments, BBPS improves the
  security and speed of payments with the help of
  the central unit (BBPCU) operating units
  (BBPOUs).
• The service of BBPS is available in multiple
  modes of payment online and through a network of
  agents.
• The usage of BBPS will transform the way payments
  are done from cash to electronic payments.
• Here, the NPCI acts as the Bharat Bill Pay
  Central Unit (BBPCU) and banks non-bank
  entities will play the role of the Bharat Bill
  Pay Operating Units (BBPOU).
• With BBPS, bill payments are integrated and
  interoperable with the added benefit of security,
  certainty and reliability of transactions
  performed.

BBPS and V-Mobile banking

• BBPS is integrated with V-Mobile banking.
• Steps to pay bills with BBPS and V-Mobile banking
• Log-in to the V-Mobile banking app.
• Select the Bharat Bill Payment option.
• Select the account from which money has to be
  debited and enter the MPIN when prompted.
• Select the Biller category from the given options
  in the screen.
• Enter the biller details and click view to see
  the bill details.
• Click on the pay option to proceed towards the
  payment.
• Payment confirmation message will be displayed on
  the next screen and customer has the option to
  take print-out of the confirmation screen.
• Other features of the app include transaction
  history, option to view bills, facility to lodge
  complaints and also to track complaint status.
