Fresh Embryo Transfer Vs. Frozen Embryo Transfer
2
Embryo Transfer
  • During any IVF (in vitro fertilization)
procedure, eggs and sperm are combined external
to a woman's body. These fertilized eggs are then
allowed to develop into embryos. Eventually, one
or more of these embryos will be placed inside
the uterus a process called embryo transfer.
  • Embryo transfer is a simple procedure that
follows in vitro fertilization (IVF) and is often
considered the simplest and final step of the in
    vitro fertilization process.

Fresh Embryo Transfer
  • In a fresh cycle, a woman has to have hormone
treatment to regulate her menstrual period,
    stimulate multiple eggs to develop
(superovulation), and help the eggs to mature.
  • A fresh embryo transfer follows your IVF cycle of
ovarian stimulation and happens very soon after
your initial egg retrieval procedure. Transfer
can occur one to six days after successful
fertilization. These days, most clinics are
allowing the embryo to reach the blastocyst stage
before transferring this is usually on day five
    or six.
