Title: 6 Common Female Infertility Treatments | Surrogate360

1
Female Infertility
  • Infertility is the inability to achieve a
pregnancy after 12 months of unprotected regular
intercourse. There are two types of female
    infertility-
  • Primary Infertility
  • Secondary Infertility

2
Primary Infertility Primary infertility is
referred to as the condition where the couple is
never able to successfully conceive a pregnancy.
That is when after a year of unprotected sexual
intercourse, they are still nit getting any
positive result. Secondary Infertility Secondar
y infertility is another type of infertility
which is common among couples who have previous
and a child or two. However they are not able to
achieve another pregnancy.

6 Common Infertility Treatments
  1. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
  2. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
  3. Donor Eggs/ Embryos
  4. Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
  5. Surgery
  6. Gestational Surrogacy

4
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) In Vitro
Fertilization (IVF) is a process where an embryo
is created in the lab by combining the eggs
removed from a womans ovaries with the sperm
donated by her partner. Then the embryo is
transferred to the uterus of the woman. The cost
of IVF cost above12,000. Intracytoplasmic Sperm
Injection (ICSI) ICSI is a procedure designed to
assist male fertilization, it is a substitute for
IVF treatment. A microscopic needle is used to
draw a single sperm from the males testicle in
ICSI. The sperm is then injected into a single
egg to create an embryo before it is transferred
to the womans uterus.
5
Donor Eggs/ Embryos A woman can donate an egg
or embryo to another woman with similar IVF
technology. To prepare the uterus for conception,
women using another womans egg or embryo need to
take medication. The process gives the women the
opportunity to carry and give birth to the baby,
even though some of them fear that having a child
that is not genetically theirs will make them
experience a feeling of detachment.
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) In IUI, a
catheter is used to transfer sperm into the
uterus of a woman. Fertility drugs like
Gonadotropin and clomiphene (a drug to treat by
inducing ovulation) Ovarian Hyperstimulation
Syndrome (OHSS) may however arise as a result.
IUI has an apparently low success rate of about
4-5 without fertility drugs, it is however one
of the cheapest alternatives to pregnancy.
6
Surgery Biological sources which can usually be
solved through surgery are the major cause of
infertility.  Gestational Surrogacy Surrogacy
is rapidly becoming a valid alternative for
creating a family given the growing rate of
acceptance and the rapid rate of development in
its methods. To carry the baby using gestational
surrogacy procedure, the intending parents
contract with a gestational carrier, or a
surrogate.
