Ways to check your EPF balance

• Employees can access the balance on their EPF
  account at a mere click of a button. The process
  is simple, quick, can be done in less than 15
  minutes.
• The simplified procedure has made it easy for
  employees members of the EPF organization to
  plan their finances.

About Employee Provident Fund

• Any organization/establishment that employs more
  than 20 persons need to register their employees
  for the Employees Provident Fund Scheme
• The scheme falls under The Employees Provident
  Funds Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 is
  managed by the Employees Provident Fund
  Organization (EPFO)
• All employees has to contribute a certain
  percentage of his/her salary the employer will
  also make an equal contribution. Upon retirement,
  the employee will receive a lump sum amount that
  includes both the employers contribution the
  contribution made by self

4 ways to check your EPF Balance

• There are 4 ways where you can check your Balance
  access your EPF Account. They are
• EPFO portal
• Missed call
• SMS
• EPFO app

1. EPFO Portal

• Step 1 Visit the online EPFO portal
  (www.epfindia.gov.in) click on the tab that
  says For Employees. Then click on the Our
  Services tab
• Step 2 This will open a new window after which
  you need to click on the Member Passbook under
  the tab Services. This will redirect you to a
  new page that says Member Passbook Facility.
• Step 3 In order to check your EPF balance, input
  your UAN number and password

2. Through Missed Call

• First you need to make sure that you have
  completed the registration process on the UAN
  portal
• You then need to just give a missed call on the
  number - 011-22901406 from your registered mobile
  number.
• The details of your EPF account will be sent to
  you through an SMS

3. By Sending SMS

• Make sure your UAN number is linked to your
  Aadhaar card/PAN card as well as to your Bank
  Account before sending SMS
• Once this has been done, you can send SMS EPFO
  UAN ENG to the number - 7738299899 if you wish
  to receive the information in English
• To receive information in other languages like
  Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, etc. you need to suffix
  the first 3 letters of the language to the EPFO
  UAN

4. EPFO Mobile App

• First thing is that you need to download the
  M-Sewa app of EPFO from Google Play Store
• Once the download is complete, just click on
  Member followed by Balance/Passbook
• Enter your UAN registered mobile number to view
  the Balance
• EPF balance can also be checked through UMANG
  app. You can find it under the option Employee
  Centric Services tab in the app
