Title: Pros and Cons of Living Off Campus

1
Pros and Cons of Living Off Campus
2
  • For students, deciding where to study is the
biggest decision. The second is figuring out
where to live. You could live on campus, but a
better alternative may be Fanshawe off campus
housing. There are both pros and cons to living
    in your own apartment.

3
Pro It Can Be Cheaper
  • There are set prices for living on campus and
these can be high. On the other hand, searching
for an apartment gives you the chance to find
    housing that fits your budget.

4
Con Youll Have to Travel to School
  • If you live on campus, youll already be at
school in the morning and there will be no
journey home in the afternoon. Choose a student
apartment and you may end up at some distance
from school. Youll need to figure out
transportation, which could mean purchasing a car.

5
Pro Youll Be Independent
  • University is the first time most students live
away from home. Living off campus will give you
the opportunity to fully explore what it is like
to be independent, as youll have your own space
    away from other students.

6
Con Youll Need to Buy Groceries
  • There are more chores to take care of if you
live off campus. For instance, youll need to
make regular trips to the grocery store to buy
food and supplies. This will take time out of
your schedule when you could be studying or
doing something fun. Youll also need to figure
out how to get to the grocery store, as it may be
    some distance from your apartment.

7
Pro It Will Be Easier to Have a Social Life
  • If you live on campus, youll likely have a
roommate. If you have your own apartment,
however, you can entertain at home and youll be
more free to do as you please.

8
Con You May Need to Bring Furniture
  • Housing on campus is furnished with everything
you need, whereas a student apartment could be
empty. Purchasing and transporting furniture will
add another element of planning to your move.

9
  • For all the benefits of living off campus and
none of the downsides, choose the Residence on
    First student apartments. London, Ontario,
students receive their own fully-furnished suite,
close enough to walk or bike to campus. Theres
no need to worry about heading to a grocery store
to buy food you can take advantage of the onsite
market to purchase everything to prepare your
favourite meals. Youll soon feel at home and
much more so than you would living on campus.
