How to do it
  • Step 1 Prepare a chicken marinade by adding
ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt, halt
tsp garam masala powder and yogurt to the chicken
pieces. Keep it aside for atleast an hour.
  • Step 2 Put cashewnuts, poppy seeds, melon seeds
and onions and cook it under pressure with one
cup water till two to three whistles are given
out. Release the pressure and keep it aside to
cool. Be careful whilst releasing the pressure to
    avoid any heat burns

How to do it
  • Step 3 Put the mixture in a mixer jar and blend
to make a smooth consistent paste. Ensure that
the mixture is smooth and has no solids left.
  • Step 4 Next, heat oil in a non-stick sauce pan,
add marinated chicken and sauté for approximately
    5 to 7 minutes.
  • Step 5 Add ground paste to the chicken and cook
for three to four minutes. Add saffron to the
curry and cook for another 10 minutes. Ensure
that the chicken is cooked well and is not in the
    rare stage.

  • Yay, your Afgani Chicken is now ready. This meal
takes a maximum of 6 to 7 minutes of prep time
and about 20-25 minutes of cooking time. It has a
mild taste, isnt very spicy and serves about 4
in the family. You can definitely alter the
quantities of the masala depending on the amount
of chicken you are cooking. You can use chicken
masala powder along with garam masala powder as
well to add little more spicy and hot taste to
    the food.
  • Serve hot with parathas, chappati/rotis or jeera
rice. Have a great dinner with friends and family.
