• What is selenium?
• Selenium is a portable software-testing framework
  for web applications. Selenium provides a
  playback (formerly also recording) tool for
  authoring tests without the need to learn a test
  scripting language (Selenium IDE). It also
  provides a test domain-specific language
  (Selenese) to write tests in a number of popular
  programming languages, including C, Groovy,
  Java, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby and Scala.
• Selenium is not just a tool, it is a software
  package that meets the different testing needs of
  each organization.
• There are four components.
• selenium integrated development environment (ide)
• selenium remote control (rc)
• WebDrive
• selenium grid

• Who developed Selenium?
• There were also different developers because
  Selenium was a collection of different vehicles.
  Below are some important contributors to the
  selenium project.
• First, selenium was created by Jason Huggins in
  2004. An engineer in his idea was working on a
  web application that should be tested frequently.
  Recognizing that the repetitive manual tests of
  his applications have become increasingly
  inefficient, he has created a JavaScript program
  that will automatically validate the browser's
  actions. This program was named
  "JavaScriptTestRunner".
• This application has the potential to help
  automate another web application, then the core
  JavaScriptRunn is called selenium open source.

• Birth of IDE(selenium rc)
• Unfortunately, testers who use selenium core have
  to test all web server applications and set up
  their own local computers because of the
  restrictions imposed by policies from the same
  source.
