    take into consideration when they go skiing,
    especially if its for a single sporadic stay
    rather than a weekly occurrence, is seeking the
    toll it will take on their body.

  • For many Winter sports enthusiasts, the thrill of
    the slopes comes at a price sore muscles, and
    various aches and pains. This is particularly
    true if you visit for a week at a time, only once
    or twice per season. Long an infrequent trips
    like this are especially stressful on the
    musculature, because the body hasnt adjusted
    with regular activity of this kind. While some
    may choose to simply bite through the pain, what
    many dont realize is that much of this soreness
    can actually be prevented, and recovered from
    more quickly, using the amazing benefits of
    massage.
  • Massage for Winter sports can be categorized into
    preparatory massage for before your trip up the
    mountain, and recovery massage, for after.
    Additionally, if youre staying for an extended
    period such as a week, you can get recovery
    massage in-between sessions however, massage at
    ski resorts is often quite expensive, and may not
    be an affordable option for many.

  • For your Preparatory massage, typically you will
    sign up for general, Therapeutic Massage, while
    of course notifying your masseuse that you are
    specifically preparing for a Winter sports trip.
    They may have you go through a set of movement
    tests, to see if there are any areas that are
    particularly stiff. Then, the masseuse will spend
    the majority of the time, or maybe even all of
    it, going over the areas that will be stressed
    the most by your trip, usually the legs, hips,
    and sometimes lower back. You will leave your
    massage facility feeling refreshed, and you will
    be more nimble and take longer to get sore, once
    on the mountain.
