About Asthma
  • Asthma is an inflammatory disease that makes
    breathing difficult. In this condition airways
    become inflamed and produce mucus that makes
    breathing difficult by narrowing the airways.

Causes of Asthma
  • Respiratory illness like Flu, Pneumonia, Common
    cold.
  • Air pollutants and irritants like chemical fumes,
    smoke
  • A lot of physical activity / exercise
  • Being Overweight / smoker
  • Having a blood relative with Asthma
  • Extreme weather conditions like very low
    temperature / very high temperature.
  • Strong Emotions can also be a factor

Symptoms of Asthma
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest tightness / pain
  • Whistling or wheezing sound when exhaling
  • Coughing especially in night
  • Fatigue
  • Trouble while sleeping due to shortness of breath
    / coughing

  • Make and follow asthma control plan
  • Get vaccinated for influenza and pneumonia
  • Identify and avoid asthma triggers
  • Monitor your breathing
  • Identify and treat attacks early
  • Take your medication as prescribed

Asthma and Diet
  • According to a report obesity is a major risk
    factor for developing asthma. Following a healthy
    diet and maintaining a healthy weight may make it
    easier to manage the condition.
  • Vitamin D rich foods, Magnesium rich foods, Beta
    carotene rich vegetables may help your lung to
    function properly.
  • You should avoid food that can cause gas like
    cabbage, beans etc. Try to avoid food / drink
    having sulfites.
  • Also Avoid Artificial ingredients.
