  Germany after the party came to power in 1933,
  but also was split in half by the infamous Berlin
  Wall in the midst of the Cold War. Before these
  events in the 20th century, the city hosted an
  array of innovative intellectuals such as Karl
  Marx, Albert Einstein, and numerous other thought
  leaders.
