Introduction/Overview of the Case
  • The case study B.R. Richardson Timber
Products Corporation is all about a lamination
plant of B.R. Richardson Timber Products
Corporation which is located in Papoose, Oregon.
According to the case study, it was determined by
the management of the B.R. Richardson Timber
Products Corporation that there was for an
organizational change in the organization and for
the same it was decided to approach Jack Lawler
who was a consultant and a management trainer.
There was an issue of low morale associated with
the lamination plan that needed to be addressed.
Apart from this, there was one more issue with
the organization, and that was the authoritative
    plant manager.

Introduction/Overview of the Case
  • Answer1 there were some major issues at
B.R. Richardson Timber Products Corporation about
organizational change and development. One of the
major issues was the authoritative style of
    management. The management determines the
policies and procedures, goals, and controls the
entire activities without consulting with the
subordinates. The management was also reluctant
to invest in the technology to upgrade the
machinery and technology of the organization.
With the help of outdated technology, the
workforce was unable to increase the level of
productivity, but the management wanted to
    increase the production and productivity.

Introduction/Overview of the Casees
  • Answer2 there are some interventions
available to the B.R. Richardson Timber Products
Corporation to solve the identified issues. One
of the major issues is the culture of the
organization which was demotivating and lowering
the level of morale of the employees. Therefore,
the first intervention to solve the problems is
to have strong organizational culture. The
culture of the organization is a key to success.
Strong and healthy organizational culture is
necessary to boost up the level of morale and
motivation of the employees which induce the
employees to achieve the goals of the
organization (Howard et al., 2015). A culture is
a system of shared values, believes, and
    behavioral norms. .

Introduction/Overview of the Casees
  • Answer3 the most important intervention that
should be implemented in the organization is
    healthy organizational culture. A healthy
organizational culture might solve most of the
issues of the organization. First of all, healthy
organizational culture is necessary to boost up
the level of motivation and morale of the
employees. The level of motivation and morale of
the employees should be high because it induces
employees to perform better and achieve the
target within the given time (Howard et al.,
    2016). Healthy organizational culture also
ensures proper and open communication in the
organization. Proper and open communication is
    very important in the organization.

Introduction/Overview of the Casees
  • Answer4 to implement strategy successfully
we need to take some actions. The following are
the actions that are necessary to implement the
    recommended strategy, i.e., a healthy
organizational culture (Ingelsson et al., 2016).
  • The first and foremost action that needs to
be taken to ensure healthy corporate culture is
to establish proper and open communication in the
organization. As we know that the proper
communication is one of the most important
factors for the success of any organization.
Communication facilitates the flow of information
from top to bottom and from the bottom to the
top. The flow of information is necessary to
ensure that all the employees are aware of any
changes in the policy and procedure in the
organization. All these things are necessary for
    healthy organizational culture.
  • The second step or action to implement
healthy organizational culture is to establish a
system to encourage and motivate the employees to
perform better. The motivated employees always
perform better and always ready to face
challenges. They also cooperate with the
management in tough time to achieve the target.
