Rules of Rummy

• Indian Rummy is a popular version of the game and
  is the preferred rummy game of the country. On
  RummyCulture, Indian Rummy can be played by a
  minimum of two players and a maximum of six
  players. There are two decks of cards that are
  needed to get the game going. There is a random
  toss and the winner gets the chance to make the
  first move. The system then randomly selects a
  wild joker from the closed deck, and after
  this, every player is dealt 13 cards at random.
  Only the top of the deck is placed with its face
  visible, while the rest of the cards remain as a
  closed deck.

Common Terminologies to be Used in Rummy

• Sequence A sequence in Indian Rummy is
  considered when three or more consecutive cards
  of the same suit are formed.
• For example, A? K? Q? J? is a group of
  consecutive cards in the same suit and can be
  considered as a valid sequence.
• Sets A set in Indian Rummy is considered when
  three or four cards of the same rank from
  different suits are formed.
• For example, 7? 7? 7?7? is a set in the same rank
  but of different suits.
• Objective In order to become a winner, a player
  has to be the first to arrange the
  above-mentioned sequences and/or sets in the
  table. The player has to form at least two
  sequences and one of them has to be a pure
  sequence, which means that it excludes the Joker.
• Winning The player who completes the objective
  of the game has to discard one card out of the 13
  hand cards to the Finish Slot to declare the
  game. If it is a valid hand, he will win with
  zero points and the points of the losing players
  will be calculated, based on the value of their
  unmatched cards.
