3- Winter is here but there are still various things
to do to for our beautiful, - lluring and blossoming landscape that has to be
protected. - We may lose the value of landscape design and
need to spend money again - for our landscape construction or reconstruct in
the upcoming year. - Preparing your landscape will allow our landscape
to sustain the long winter - months.
- Here are some useful tips to get our landscape
ready for the harsh winter weather.
4- Cut back perennials, trees, shrubs
- We dont need to detach perennials from our
garden space, they regrow every spring. Instead,
just trim them one to two inches just above the
ground. To keep them safe from heavy winds and
snowfalls, trim shrubs and shape trees. - This is also a good point of time to remove any
plants from our flower beds which are out of
season. - Mulch the soil throughout the perennials, trees,
shrubs and in flower beds to shield them, and to
keep hold the soil moisture at the very time. - Remove leaves and weeds
- Rake up leaves and weeds regularly to avert
debris from spreading which can shelter pests and
molds, damage yard drainage systems and therefore
block the roots of the plants. Space should be
kept clean that allows the plants to spring back
after they rest beneath the ground.
5 Aerate, seed and fertilize We have to make sure
our lawn gets a breathing space in autumn and
winter through aeration. Aeration is a process
that breaks up the compacted soil and allows
oxygen, nutrients, water to go through the roots.
It enables the seeds to sprout and grass to grow
and stretch. During the fall and winter turf
roots grow expansively, so its the perfect time
for seeding our lawn. Apply fertilizer before
the first frost reaches, so our lawn absorbs and
store the nutrients required. Water, water,
water Though the weather is cold, keep on
watering the ground until it starts to freeze.
Watering regularly lets the moisture to soak
into the roots and averts frost damage. It
wont be late before our yard gets covered with
snow and ice. These preparation tips will
benefit our landscape enrich in the winter
displaying its wonderful blooms in the spring
once again.
