1Radon Commercial Mitigation Services
We guarantee that our radon mitigation system
will get your home or office under the EPA
recommendation. Our commercial team focuses on
Tennessee and the Southeast, but has done work as
far away as Arizona.
2Vapor Intrusion (Volatile Organic Compounds)
Our team brings over ten years of experience in
Vapor Intrusion Mitigation with jobs ranging from
former dry cleaning sites to the new Federal
Courthouse in Nashville. Our commercial team
focuses on Tennessee and the Southeast, but has
done work as far away as Arizona.
3Commercial Measurement Mitigation
If you need to test your building for radon, you
have two choices 1) Contact our office for a
free charcoal test kit. This process usually
takes 2-3 weeks and involves you mailing the kit
to a lab. 2) Have a Radon 1 technician come to
your office with an electronic testing device
that measures your levels over a minimum of
48-hour period and gives you the radon report and
results on the spot. The minimum charge for this
is 300. If your building or office has radon,
you will need to install a system that creates a
negative pressure field underneath the entire
building and routes a pathway either on the
interior or exterior of the structure and
releases it harmlessly above the roofline
outdoors, where it naturally dilutes to a safe
level.
4Commercial Measurement Mitigation
In most buildings this is achieved by sealing the
crawl space with a plastic vapor barrier or
penetrating the basement slab, and then
installing a riser from the barrier and/or slab
that are connected to a fan and exhaust above the
roofline of the structure. The fan creates an
active negative pressure and pulls the radon
outside. Radon fans are designed to run
continuously and do not make any disturbing
audible noise.
5RRNC (Radon resistant new construction)
Radon-Resistant New Construction (RRNC) is a set
of construction techniques consistent with
state-of-the-art energy efficient green
construction practices, allowing for lower energy
consumption and increased savings.Radon is the
second leading cause of lung cancer, causing an
estimated 21,000 deaths in the United States
annually. Unfortunately, Tennessee is a hotbed
for radon.
6Multi- Family Measurement and Mitigation
In 2013, the White House Council on Environmental
Quality launched the 2013 Advancing Healthy
Housing Strategy, which mandated that
multi-family properties receiving HUD financing
or refinancing are required to undergo radon
testing. If the test results show concentrations
of radon above 4 picocuries per liter, building
owners or managers must install a radon
mitigation system to reduce the concentration of
the gas to an acceptable level.
7CC1000 Compliance Guidance
Radon1 is a full-service commercial contractor.
We offer design/ build level services including
consulting on CC1000 and HUD guidance standards
for new construction. Radon is naturally
occurring radioactive soil gas that is colorless,
odorless and tasteless. Radon comes from the
breakdown of uranium and radium, elements often
found underground in the limestone throughout
Tennessee.
