these militaries had on both Native communities
in the region and on warfare during the era.

The second, titled Burning the Hearts of the
Dead Medicine, Migration and Vampire Belief in
Early America, assess the impact of occult
beliefs from Europe on medicine in eighteenth and
nineteenth-century America.
