WHY NEW LUBRICANTS ARE NOT CLEAN
2

INTRODUCTION
The truth is your new oils may already be
contaminated by the time you receive them. Its
important to mention that more than 80 of
equipment failures are directly or indirectly
associated with contaminated oil. So, its
important to ensure oil cleanliness at every
stage of your lubrication strategy.
3

How To Ensure Oil Cleanliness
Test your new lubricants and make sure you have
received the right product no matter whats
written on the label. The question is how can new
oils be contaminated?
4

How New Oils Get Contaminated
From packaging to the transporting process, new
oils can get contaminated. The best practice is
to sample your new oil, at least one sample per
batch. Your machines are precious assets and
lubrication is their oxygen. Here is what you can
do to keep your new oils clean.
5
  1. Have A Properly Designed Lube Room

Your facility must have a well-organized lube
room, and there must be correct lubrication
handling and storage procedures in place.
6

2. Store Your New Lubricants Indoor
Whether new or old, lubricants must be stored
indoor at a place where the chances of particle
ingression is minimum.
7

3. Ensure Stable Temperature
Store your new lubricants indoor, at a dry
location where its possible to control the
temperature and environment. Fluctuations in
temperatures can seriously damage your oils.
8

Solution Test Your New Oils
While clean environment and stable temperature is
important, test your new oils before storing them
or using them. Contact Micro Lube or visit our
website for more information!
