society. This is a bright six-day holiday at the
end of October. The festival of Creole culture
takes place on Mahe, La Digue and Praslin and
includes Creole art, handicrafts, songs, dances
and food.
9The festival of the Assumption takes place in
mid-August. It is particularly well-celebrated
on La Digue with a Mass, procession, and festival
that attracts many visitors from other islands.
In the weeks leading up to the event, houses

as part of the procession to the island's church.

in the northern part of Mahe in February. It

Eco-Friendly Marathon is held every year to
