  • CONGO is a Central African Country which is
    located in equatorial region.

CLIMATE OF CONGO
  • The Democratic Republic of the Congo lies on
    the equator, with one-third of the country to the
    north and rest to the south. The climate is hot
    and humid in the river basin and iny season lasts
    from October to May and north of the Equator,
    from April to November. Along the cool and dry in
    the southern highlands, with a cold, alpine
    climate in the Rwenzori Mountains.

    fairly regular throughout the year. During the
    wet season, thunderstorms often are violent but
    seldom last more than a few hours. The average
    rainfall for the entire country is about 1,070 mm

  • Official language of CONGO is French.
  • It is estimated that a total of 242 languages are
    spoken in the country. Four indigenous languages
    have the status of national language Kituba or
    Kikongo, Lingala, Swahili and Tshiluba.

WILDLIFE
  • The Congo rainforest is known for its high levels
    of biodiversity, including more than 600
    tree species and 10,000 animal species. Some of
    its most famous residents include forest
    elephants, gorillas, chimpanzees, okapi,
    leopards, hippos, and lions.

NATURAL VEGETATION
  • The eastern plateaus are covered by grasslands,
    and mountain forest, bamboo thickets, and
    Afro-Alpine vegetation occur on the highest
    mountains.
  • The central basin is a vast reservoir
    of nativetrees and plants. Among these, mahogany,
    ebony, limba, wenge, agba, iroko, and sapele
    provide timber.
