About Visa 802

• Visa 802 allows a child to stay in Australia
  permanently and live with their parents. The
  parent must be an Australian citizen, permanent
  resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. Child
  Visa Subclass 802 is for a child under 25 years
  of age who wants to remain in Australia with
  their parent. The parent must act as a sponsor
  for the child and can lodge the visa application
  on behalf of the child.

• work and study in Australia
• enrol in Australia's public healthcare scheme
• sponsor relatives to come to Australia
• apply for Australian citizenship, if eligible

How long the child can stay

• Visa subclass 802 is a permanent visa, the child
  can stay indefinitely. The child becomes a
  permanent resident on the day visa granted.

Include other children

•         If the child has siblings who also want
  to apply then apply with a separate application
  for each sibling.
•         The child's dependent children can be
  included on their application when they apply.
•         Dependent children of the child who
  apply for the visa must meet the health
  requirement
•         Family members who are not coming to
  Australia might have to meet the health
  requirement.

• The child must be in Australia but not in the
  immigration clearance. The child can't apply for
  this visa if they are in Australia on another
  visa with a no further stay condition.

  applications in 13 months
