Title: Seychelles beaches - Coral Strand Hotel
1 Seychelles beaches Coral Strand Hotel
Seychelles beaches feature in all the top lists
of the most beautiful beaches in the world. They
are also the most photographed you can easily
find them as a backdrop in films, photo shoots
and commercials such as for Bacardi and Bounty.
Lets get a closer look!
2Beau Vallon Beau Vallon is the most popular with
tourist beach of the Mahe island. It has a wide
bay with white sand and clear water. Hotels,
including luxury, stretched along its sands. Here
you can also find water sports facilities and
diving centers, restaurants, bars and
casinos. All year round, every Wednesday and
Saturday evening, Bazar Labrin becomes a
cultural center of the Beau Vallon. Being one of
the most popular markets in the country, it
attracts many tourists, as well as locals, and
gives a true taste of authentic Creole culture.
Delicious cheap food, drinks, souvenirs, music -
it's all here in Beau Vallon Beach!
3Anse Intendance Anse Intendance beach is one of
the most famous beaches of the Seychelles
islands, wild and amazing in the far south-west
of Mahe, and yet stunningly beautiful, with a
half-mile stretch of white powdery sand. Public
access to Anse Intendance is located in the south
of the bay, where a well-marked path through the
jungle away from the resort will lead you to the
beach, immersed in the sounds and atmosphere of
the forest. Located about 15 km from Mahe
airport, the beautiful Anse Intendance offers
quite impressive breakers. There is no reef here,
so the waves are much larger than on most other
beaches around the island, making it more
suitable for surfing, and not for swimming.
4Takamaka On the beach Takamaka youll find
golden sand, blue waves breaking on a rather
steep ocean shore, warm waters around your feet.
This romantic beach is perfect for a
honeymoon. At the southern end of the sand lane,
expect to see the luxurious Batista villas and
their beachside restaurant, with great views of
the beach. Other 1.5km Takamaka are empty, with
few shops, private apartments, art galleries and
restaurants. Anse Takamaka is perfect for
sunbathing, relaxation and leisurely barefoot
walks. There are not many other visitors around,
and you will always find a quiet place here.
5Baie Lazare For historically minded, the Baie
Lazare beach is worth a visit to understand the
impressions of Lazare Picault, the first
navigator who landed on this beautiful coast and
discovered Mahe for France in 1742. Baie Lazare
is a beautiful wide bay. From June to October,
when swimming is not recommended, the surf is
noisy here, and the beach is often empty with
stunning views in the midst of wide spaces, being
a great place to walk, even if the waves are too
big.
6Anse Boileau With a narrow strip of soft sand
and shallow waters, Anse Boileau Beach (Anse
Boileau) is located in the center of the
south-west coast of Mahe Island, near the main
coastal road. Along this beach, you can often
find Seychelles fishermen unloading fish traps
and other small boats along their shady
beach. Anse Boileau is a long bay, with a small
town with a handful of shops, and restaurants
serving food at home. The beach is wide and
empty, and quite beautiful in the setting sun.
Fishing boats are moored at each end of Anse
Boileau, and in the mornings, right on the beach
you can buy fresh fish.
7Glacis Every morning, at dawn, you can watch the
local fishermen going to the sea from the central
beach Glacis (Glasi) on their small, colorful
fishing boats and later you will see them
returning with a fresh catch, which they sell at
the fish market, right on the beach. Glacis
Beach, north of Beau Vallon, is shaded by pines
and Takamaka trees, and rocks in the water can
make swimming difficult. In addition to the main
beach, Glacis is divided into several other,
smaller beaches that can be found in this
picturesque area of ??the Seychelles. Cute and
miniature beaches of Glacis are very popular.
8Port Glaud Port Glod (Port Glaud) - the last
settlement in the far, north-western end of the
island of Mahe, where along the entire length of
the coastline you will find a peaceful and sleepy
village life. The city beach is quite pleasant,
with views of the nearby Seychelles Conception
and Sainte Therese. The city has only a few
places where you can pick up food at home, and a
large number of shops (one of which has the best
views from the car park in the world!). And a
short path from the local church to the nearby
waterfall. Port Glaud is also not far from the
beautiful Sans Souci mountain pass, and is close
to the tea factory and viewing points of Mission
Lodge.
9Anse Royale Anse Royale beach is one of the
largest bays on the southeast coast of Mahe
island, with calm and clear emerald water and an
immense panorama of white sands and palm trees
from any point on the beach. If you are traveling
south from Seychelles Airport, this is one of the
first beaches on the east coast where to stay,
and this is a real delight, with beautiful views
in all directions. Lots of small coves along the
coast of Anse Royale are known as the 'Fairy
Land' and go further down to the Anglican church
in Anse Royale. They are a charming place for
swimming and snorkeling. Myriads of brightly
colored reef fish live here.
