in 1996-1997, 61 of television programs

the violence. Forty percent of violent acts were
    committed by attractive characters.
  • For this assignment, you need to watch an hour of
    childrens television, preferably cartoons, and
analyze the level of violence in the chosen
    childrens show.

    Violence in the MediaAbstract
  • Technology surrounds us everywhere. Most
individuals, regardless of age, race, gender, or
ethnicity, own some type of electronic equipment.
This can be in many forms such as a cellular
phone, computer, television, or videogame system.
  • For the past twenty years there has been a long
debate on how exposure to violence in video
games, television, and movies impacts society,
    particularly more impressionable young children.
Each incidence of violence committed by a young
child or adolescent has respired the debate on
whether or not there was exposure to violence
through the media and whether it had a role in
the perpetrators actions. In this case, Greg,
    age 10, is no different.

  • At the age of nine, Anita moved from a small town
to a big city because her father was transferred
to a new job. Anita entered fifth grade in the
middle of the term and was immediately ostracized
by her female classmates. Anita begged her
parents to send her back to her old school. Her
parents assumed she was lonely and reassured her
that things would get better soon.

  • Assignment 2 Community Violence in the U.S.
  • In the increasingly violent times that the U.S.
is experiencing, it has been observed that
children in some areas are terrorized by street
violence. Gang warfare can easily turn a quiet
neighborhood into a war zone, where children
might become inadvertent victims. Although some
children cant cope with the fear, a few are able
to rise above it and confidently move ahead.
  • What are risk factors for children to become
    involved in gang activity
