- Seafarers working on board a ship are required
to have a valid Certificate of Competency (COC)
or endorsement, which comply with the
International Convention on Standards of
Training, Certification and Watchkeeping
forSeafarers (STCW). -
- The certificate of competency (COC) is a form of
licence every seafarer is approved to work on
ships. -

person has the adequate knowledge and skills to

- This course aims to deliver knowledge and skills
for learners to manage, oversee and evaluate
training and learning enabled by simulators for
the attainment of the competencies set out in the
STCW Convention as amended with particular
reference to STCW Regulation I/6, STCW Code A-I/6
on training and assessment as well as STCW
Regulation I/12, STCW Code A-I/12 on use of
simulators. - A maritime simulator or ship simulator is a
system that simulates ships and maritime
environments for training, research and other
purposes. In addition, there are maritime
simulators for e.g. ECDIS, engine room, and cargo
handling operations, as well as shore-side

6- Advance Tanker Courses
- A specialized oil tanker training programme
(TASCO) is aobligatory course for obtaining level
- 2 Oil Tanker Endorsement (DCE), which is a
requirement under STCW chapter V/1 for all
officers wanting to serve on board chemical
tankers in the management level, in addition such
personnel must have completed the Tanker. -
- It comprises an advanced training program
appropriate to their duties, including oil tanker
safety, fire safety measures, pollution
prevention, operational practice and obligations
under applicable law and regulations. The course
covers the competence requirements as given in
the table under Section A-V/1-1-2 of the STCW
Code adopted by the International Convention on
Standards of Training, Certification and

7- Modular Courses
- These courses are under the STCW Convention
(Standards of Training Certification and Watch
keeping) are IMO (International Maritime
Organization) requirements and cover the basic
knowledge about the Safety Survival at sea. The
present course completely covers the course
outline as prescribed in IMO typical course on
Personal Safety and Social Responsibility and
meets the STCW20 10, IMO and SOLAS (Safety of
Life at Sea) requirements. All those prospective
seafarers and those already oceangoing whose
business takes them across the seas should
possess knowledge of the means available to them
to save themselves and contribute in saving lives
in an emergency. - It is anticipated that knowledge and experience
gained on end of the course will enable a
potential seafarer to respond in an effective
manner to emergency circumstances and which will
contribute towards improvement of safety of life

8- Basic Tanker Courses

- This STCW course offers training for officers
and ratings. It includes a basic training program
suitable to their duties, including oil and
chemical tanker safety, fire safety measures and
systems, pollution prevention, operational
practice and obligations under appropriate laws
and regulations. The course takes complete
account of section A-V/1-1 of the STCW Code
adopted by the International Convention on
Standards of Training, Certification and Watch
keeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended, including
the Manila amendments 2010. - As long as they hold an appropriate certificate
and are otherwise trained in accordance with
regulation section A-VI/1 of the International
Convention on Standards of Training,
Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers
1978, as amended, those successfully completing
the course may be eligible to serve on board Oil

9- Basic Courses
- As Per DGS Circular 6 of 2018, 4 STCW Basic
courses are combined as Single course. New Course
"Basic STCW Safety Training Course (BST)" is
includes below courses. - The aim of the course is to give seafarers the
essential education and training in Personal
Survival Techniques, Fire Prevention and Fire
Fighting, Elementary First Aid and Personal
Safety Social Responsibilities, with an
additional Expertise in Security Awareness at no
extra cost. - Please see individual course details for more
information. These four courses offered cover up
the minimum STCW basic safety training
requirements and will generally run from every
month on month. All of these courses can,

10- Refresher Courses
- The STCW Convention has been amended by the 2010
Manila Amendments which contains new training
requirements. Seafarers are required to provide
documentary evidence of having maintained the
required standard of competence every 5 years in
order to undertake jobs pertaining to emergency,
occupational safety and survival functions. - These Courses aims at imparting the learners
with the updated knowledge of the particular
area. This will better enable the seafarers with
application of present day practical in their job
at sea. This is a mandatory requirement under
STCW guidelines for each individual on board ship
to hold the updated course undergone certificate.
This will keep the safety and security of the
personnel on board with high efficiency and care

11- Revalidation Courses
- STCW revalidation is a requirement of the 2010
Manila Amendments. If you are serving on board a
ship and are qualified in any of the following
areas you are now required to have documentary
evidence of either completing the Basic Safety
Training or a refresher within the last 5 years. - This course will allow students to demonstrate
the skills needed to revalidate their STCW
Certification and continue to be able to prevent
accidents, injuries, and harm to our environment
function safely and harmoniously in the chain of
command and in case of a fire emergency, react
