Houston Tyners reputation as a leader in
hospitality, commercial, residential, and
institutional projects has been built on its
nearly 30 years of exceptional project design and
delivery. Founders Gary Houston and Russel Tyner
envisioned a firm that would successfully
collaborate with its consultants, the
construction industry, and most importantly its

Our Achievement
On June 21, 2019, The Westdrift Manhattan Beach
was awarded Best Hospitality Project by the Los
Angeles Business Council and the Los Angeles
Architectural Awards. This years Architectural
Awards drew over 650 leading architects,
designers, building owners, developers and city
officials together to celebrate the most
innovative designs in Los Angeles. Winners in 23
design categories were chosen from hundreds of
submissions by a jury panel of industry experts,
according to a statement from the LABC.

The Real Estate and Development (RED) Awards
which are considered the Academy Awards of
Arizonas commercial real estate industry
honored last years top brokers, architects,
contractors, developers and projects on March 6th
at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. The
Phoenician Resort was awarded with Best
Hospitality Project. Owner and developer Host
Hotels. General contractor and project manager
Kitchell. Architect Houston/Tyner
The Real Estate and Development (RED) Awards
Best Hospitality Project to The Phoenician
Resort.

Our Achievement
On Monday, March 25, over 600 people united at
the Beverly Wilshire to celebrate the Venice
Family Clinics commitment to helping vulnerable
people in our community get and stay healthy. The
event helped VFC raise more than 1.5 million to
help provide quality primary health care to
people in need. The evening featured stories of
extraordinary people who are champions for people
in need. Russel Tyner, the president and
co-founder of Houston/Tyner Architects who has
designed many of the Clinics state-of-the-art
facilities, was honored with the Irma Colen
Leadership Award for his 34 years of service to
the Clinic.

Our Achievement
The 12th Annual HD Awards honored some of the
best achievements in hospitality design around
the globe. This year, nearly 540 project entries
were submitted across 20 categories. Houston
Tyner Architects project, The Camby, Autograph
Collection in Phoenix won in the category of
Public Spaces (Luxury/Upscale).

Our Achievement
Houston/Tyner teamed up with JWCH Institute
Wesley Health Centers to renovate these buildings
and breathe new life into the community. Design
concepts such as shade trees, landscaping,
outdoor seating, textures, colors, articulation,
acoustics, flow, privacy, accessibility, security
and safety were all part of the design process.

Houston/Tyners Co-Founder and Principal
Architect Gary Houston was honored at the 23rd
annual Affair of the Heart Gala for his
involvement in securing a 1 million grant and
undertaking a 6,000 sq ft expansion of the
Richstone facility in Hawthorne.
