Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Autism spectrum disorderĀ is a condition that
    impairs the ability to communicate and interact
    with others
  • It is a "developmental disorder
  • Can be diagnosed at any age, but generally the
    symptoms start in first two years of life
  • Difficulty in communication social interaction
    is commonly affected
  • Repetitive behaviors and restricted interests

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)
  • It is a brain disorder characterized by
    inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that
    interferes with functioning or development.
  • Inattention Unable to complete tasks,
    difficulty in sustaining focus
  • Hyperactivity Constantly moving, esp. in
    schools, or at in appropriate places excessive
    tapping, fidgeting
  • complaints from schools for not sitting at one
    place, etc
  • Impulsivity Makes hasty actions, unable to wait
    for turn during play, etc.
  • The symptoms typically appear within first 7
    years and can continue through adolescence and
    adulthood.

Conduct Disorder
  • It is a persistent and repetitive pattern of
    behavior in which the rights of others are
    violated
  • More common in boys than in girls
  • Age of onset can be before age of 10 years, or
    in adolescence,

Behaviors Include
  • Aggressive behavior harming to other people or
    animals,
  • bullying others
  • Damaging property, setting fire, etc.
  • Stealing, lying or "conning" others
  • Violation or rules, truancy from school

  • There is excessive fear or anxiety concerning
    the separation from home or attachment figures
  • Persistent worry about losing attachment figures
    (parent or caregivers)
  • Refusal to go to school or away from home
  • Difficulty playing or being alone, difficulties
    at bedtime
  • One of the common anxiety problem in children
    under the age of 12 years.

  • Difficulty to verbalize feelings. Loss or
    interest in play,

    school performance

    effects when onset occurs in childhood and

  • An obsession with germs and dirt
  • Repeated checking whether door is locked or not,
    or switch is off or not
  • Repetitive touching things and counting
  • Unusually long time spent in washing hands,
    bathing
