Guidelines for Rate of Honorarium of Guest

As per the 537th meeting, which was held on 10th
December 2018, on the issue of enhancement of the
rates of Honorarium of Guest Faculties, the
University Grants Commission has considered has
taken some action. Here, we have shared the
details and implementations on meeting points as
per the 7th pay commission.

Guidelines for Rate of Honorarium of Guest
Faculty

• INR 1500 will be enhanced per lecture that
  subject to a maximum of INR 50000 per month.
• Guest faculty will only be appointed against the
  sanctioned posts. Where the sanctioned posts are
  not adequate as per the load of teaching, the
  Guest Faculty can be appointed up to 20 above
  the sanctioned posts.

• The qualification for the post of Guest Faculty
  will be the same as per the regulations for
  Assistant Professor post in various colleges and
  universities.
• The Guest Faculty will be appointed as per the
  rules of regularly appointed Assistant
  Professors.

The composition of the selection committee for
Guest Faculty will be as follows
Vice- President or his/her nominee will be
appointed as the Chairperson of the selection
committee. An expert for the concerned subject
will be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor. Whereve
r applicable, a dean of the concerned faculty
will be appointed in the selection committee.

• The Guest Faculty will not be treated as the
  regular Assistant Professor in the terms of
  voting rights or for becoming a member of
  statutory bodies of the university.
• As Guest Faculty, the superannuated teachers may
  also be considered by the commission.
• The benefits like allowances, gratuity,
  allowance, and leaves, etc. will not be allowed
  to the Guest Faculty as admissible to the regular
  teachers.
