2Import Export Code
IEC stands for Import Export Code. It is a
registration required for people importing or
exporting goods in/from India. It is a 10 digit
number code issued by Director General of Foreign
Trade, Department of Commerce, Government of
India. Any person/company partaking in
international trade is required to be registered
and possess an IEC code. Import Export Code (IEC)
is required by individuals or persons or
companies who partake in international trade,
i.e. import of goods or export of goods.
3Documents required for IEC Registration are as
follows-
- Address Proof of the firm.
- Bankers Certificate / Cancelled Cheque.
- Self certified copy of PAN card.
4Steps for IEC Registration are as follows-
Online method-
- Visit the official website for IEC registration
(http//dgft.gov.in) - Go to the Services tab and select IEC.
- Select Online IEC Application.
- Fill the form.
- Attach the necessary documents.
- Pay the required fee online.
- Submit the form.
5Steps for IEC Registration are as follows-
Offline method-
- Download and print the ANF 2A form to
issue/modify the IEC Number. - Fill the form.
- Attach the necessary documents.
- To pay the required fee, demand draft of Rs. 250
should be made in the name of DGFT Regional
Office. - 5. Post the application to the regional DGFT
office.
