NTSE is a National level scholarship program in
India to find and perceive students with high
intelligence and academic talent. This program
started in 1963 and organized by government of
India, National Council of Educational Research
Training (NCERT), to identify capable students
presenting them with scholarships till doctorate
level. NTSE is one of the most distinguished
and competitive scholarship program in India.
Only students of Class 10th are eligible to
appear for this exam. It provides scholarship to
selected students from 10th till post graduation
level.

The selection process of NTSE Exam has two
stages. The first stage of selection process is
conducted by the individual states, and the
second stage of selection process at the national
level is carried out by the NCERT. The exam
pattern and syllabus for NTSE Exam is similar to
NCERT syllabus but the difficulty level will be a
bit high. Students appearing for the NTSE exam
must have a clear knowledge of the NTSE exam
pattern and NTSE Syllabus. This is necessary for
the students so that they can plan their
preparation accordingly and focus on the
necessary topics and concepts.

The exam pattern for NTSE is same for both NTSE
Stage 1 (state level) and Stage 2(national
level). In both the stages, there are two
sections 1.Mental Ability Test (MAT) and
2.Scholastic Ability Test (SAT). The
Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) again has two
parts (a) Language Test and (b) Science,
Social Science Mathematics. The syllabus is
same for all these sections, for both the stages,
stage 1 (State Level) and stage 2 (National
level) of NTSE.
