Wayanad, a lush and picturesque paradise is
situated between the Western Ghats hills. It is
one of Kerala's most visited places. Besides
Wayanad's hypnotic elegance, it also has a rich
history and unique culture. The Wayanad hills
share a common boundary with Mudumalai Wildlife
Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka's Bandipur
Tiger Reserve, making it a dream come true for
wildlife enthusiasts. Soochippara
Waterfalls Soochipara is the most famous
waterfall in Wayanad, 23 km from Kalpetta.
Although it is not the largest, because of its
easy accessibility it attracts people. The main
waterfall is located just 1 km from the entrance
gate. The word Soochipara means' Needle Rock'
that describes the shape of the nearby 200 m
rock. It is a waterfall of three levels with a
height of 200 feet
5
Kanthanpara Waterfalls Kanthanpara is another
nearby waterfall, located only a short distance
from the Soochippara waterfall. These waterfalls
are about thirty meters high. The waterfall is
small but stunning, making taking your kids on a
simple trek. The waterfall is a great place for
picnics, romantic outings and family tours,
located a short distance from the street. It is
surrounded by tea gardens and dense forests on
all sides. It is also the only waterfall you can
get to the main falls by car. That's why these
falls are ideal for all ages of visitors. The
waterfall is only 22 km from Kalpetta and Meppadi
is only 8 km away. Meenmutty Waterfalls Meenmutty
is also one of the best waterfalls in Kerala to
visit, being the largest waterfall in the state.
It's a waterfall of three tiers with a total
height of 300 m. After an arduous two-kilometer
trek through the jungle, you will reach the
bottom level. The next levels are harder and you
need to be fit. The concept behind his name,'
Meenmutty,' is to block fish here. "Meen" means
fish in Malayalam, and "mutty" means blocked.
About 29 km from Kalpetta and 12 km from Meppadi
is the fall. The best time to visit the waterfall
is between October and May.

There are resorts in Wayanad which are located
near these waterfalls and it is always better to
book your stay there before you pack your bags.
Because it is to be noted that Wayanad cannot be
explored in just one day, and the packages these
resorts offer you covers almost the most
beautiful locations you need to visit and
activities you need to do.
