Women Entrepreneurs To Get INR 1000 Cr From
Startup India Fund Of Funds

• To accelerate the participation of women in
  business entrepreneurship and startup, the Indian
  government is planning to implement different
  schemes and subsidy programs.
• Since the past few years, the Indian government
  is taking women empowerment very thoughtfully.
  They have implemented several schemes in the
  nation for the development of women Business
  Entrepreneurship and tackle the issue such as
  funding, market availability, and business
  skills.
• In March 2018, under the leadership of Anna Roy,
  Adviser (Industry) of NITI Aayog, the Women
  Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) was launched. The
  WEP is a platform that aims to increase the
  number of women business entrepreneurs to a
  substantial number.
• According to the PIB statement, "WEP tied up with
  a range of companies including Nasscom, SIDBI,
  FICCI, CII, and Facebook that will provide
  credits. Meanwhile, ShopClues mentored 12 budding
  women business entrepreneurs for a year."

• To further address the concerns such as women
  development and their role in the business
  entrepreneurship, the Minister of State for skill
  development and entrepreneurship, Raj Kumar
  Singh, said that schemes such as Startup India,
  Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme
  (PMEGP), Udyam Sakhi Portal, among others have
  been started by the government to reinforce women
  Business Entrepreneurship in India.
• The Startup India program, launched by the
  government is explicitly aiming to nurture
  innovations and startups in India. They have
  established an INR 10K Cr Fund of Funds, under
  which the 10 is for women-led startups.

• Furthermore, the Prime Ministers Employment
  Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a credit-linked
  aid scheme, promoting the set up of MSMEs and to
  produce employment in rural and urban areas.
  Under this scheme, the government is providing
  25 and 35 subsidies to women entrepreneurs for
  the project set up in the urban and rural areas
  of the nation respectively.
• Notably, the highest acclaimed cost of the scheme
  under the PMEGP project is INR 25 Lakh for
  establishing manufacturing units and INR 10 Lakh
  for starting a service-based startup.
