Concrete is a construction material made up of
water, cement aggregate (rock, sand, and gravel),
Portland cement and other admixtures. The
following are the steps involved in the
concreting process. Steps in concreting -
Batching Batching, the first step, is the
process of measuring the different ingredients in
concrete cement, coarse aggregate, sand, water,
etc. It can be done in two different ways
-Volume Batching The measurement of the
different ingredients of concrete is done based
on volume. Weight Batching The measurement of
concrete materials is done by checking the
weight. Mixing Here, all the ingredients are
mixed thoroughly until the paste shows uniformity
in colour and consistency. To attain a good mix,
one should undertake the process in a dry
condition initially and later in a wet
condition.

then transported to the construction site. It can
be divided into two types Manual and Mechanical
Transportation. Compaction In this process, the
freshly placed concrete is rid of air bubbles.

the concrete is protected against loss of
moisture required for hydration. Curing will
increase the strength and decrease the
