About Solar Panels

• Solar panels (also known as "PV panels") are used
  to convert light from the sun into electricity
• Solar panels can be used for a wide variety of
  applications including remote power systems for
  cabins, telecommunications equipment, remote
  sensing
• Also of course for the production of electricity
  by residential and commercial solar electric
  systems.

How Do Solar Panels Work?

• Solar PV panels capture sunlight, causing
  electrons in the panels silicon cells to release
  energy that becomes direct current (DC)
  electricity

• An inverter converts the DC into alternating
  current (AC) electricity, making it useable for
  homes and businesses

How Do Solar Panels Work?

• Excess electricity can be stored in a battery or
  fed back into the power grid

• Additional electricity can be pulled from the
  grid if you need more power than your solar
  panels can generate
